    The breakfast could be better...

Great price— really appreciated the parking setup. Wish there was a frig in the room.

For our visiting or business purposes, SOMA is a good location. It's affordable, with parking, wifi, walking distance to many good restaurants, shopping, and more.

Great location- comfortable bed- & cool fooseball that my daughter & I had lots of fun playing to stay out SF days

Also, the room was pretty hot, and there is no air conditioning. The fan was very dinky and loud. No microwave or fridge in the room, just so you are aware. I don’t believe the description said there were, but I didn’t look closely Definitely a sketchy part of town. Homeless were parked across the street as well ask along the street the hotel was on. That is not the fault of the hotel, but something to note.

Breakfast was really good. Hotel seems old, but it was ok. Parking was cramped, but available. It was very close to the transit system.

My room was very clean and I liked that. Bed was comfortable and decor was nice. Room was pleasant. I would have wanted to open the windows but because of the neighborhood was a little afraid to do that so screens to keep out bugs and a secure way to crack open the windows would be a good idea. One window did not lock and that is an easy fix. Also the kid at the desk wasn’t helpful when I asked about safety and how to walk to the convention center. Preparing the staff to respond helpfully would be a good idea. I’m sure I’m not the only one who asked whether it’s okay to walk down 7th - it’s not and it’s pretty scary but people can go to market - it’s a little better- metro seemed okay too. Not sure and you can ask your legal team what they advise but it left me feeling like no one cared and I was by myself on this trip. Breakfast is fine. Eggs were a little cold but actually taste good so I’m sure you can find a nice tidy way to keep them warm in a stylish warming type of cabinet/appliance. I didn’t mind that the breakfast was simple because I was on the go and I’m sure other travelers are like me. Those are my two bits. I actually wanted to buy the robe too. I liked it but the front desk said I couldn’t. Do other people ask about that? If I’m not the only one- could be additional revenue, free advertising lol, and the products smell nice. Sharing because I like the place. Not bad for the price.

The bathroom was disgusting. It was not clean. The shower had pubic hair all over it. I even emailed and called the front desk and emailed the manager, and they never responded with anything. Not even a courtesy future stay or discount. I will never stay there again because of all the pubic care that was left in the shower. I took pictures as well.

Just so people know, they charge a deposit when you get there. They charge you separate for parking, they gave me 2 choices. Park a few blocks away or use another hotel’s parking and it’s across the street. I had an accident so I was not going to walk so we chose the hotel across the street. I asked for a room with a good city view, I got a room facing a wall. I got there 20 minutes before my check in, they tell me the room is not ready, that they were cleaning it. 20 minutes after my check in I was still standing there. They apologized and told me they were backed up, I was able to get my room one hour and 20 minutes after getting there, just to get a room that looked nothing like what i asked for. Never staying there again. Also the parking attendant that works at this hotel was very rude and unhelpful.

We stayed here for two nights, it was an okay hotel. The staff were helpful at check in and assisting us with car parking. The place itself is very dated, the hallways and lift smelt gross. The room was fine, main issue was the lighting was lacking, lots of lamps etc but really hard to get the room bright enough to actually see, and very hot. We had to open the window to cool the room down but then of course it was very loud with music playing on the streets etc. The breakfast was really average but better than nothing.

Not a safe surrounding area. It’s downtown SF but the bad part of SF. No AC. Pool located at another property across the street. Breakfast is just fruit and pastries. Not worth it.

Good place to stay for travelers in a budget.

The photos online are from a past refurbishment. The actual rooms and main lobby look much more tired than the photos. There isn’t air conditioning in all rooms and the rooms get very warm. A comfortable stay but not awesome.

The breakfast was cold, which I get it ,I didn’t expect it to be good in the first place. What really bothered me was the whole room . There was a really bad odor like horrible ,it almost smelled like someone tried to clean up or cover the smell of feces with cleaning supplies.

Location The lack of central air or cooling system

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

    Decent stay, location was practical

The shower couldn't open or close all the way, dish for soap tray was too big for the sink, the remote for the ac was not useful at all, and parking was $55 a night for the smallest spots ever. The driver had to crawl out a passenger door to get out. Breakfast was fruit and a store-bought pastry. Swimming pool is across the street on top of a different hotel, and our key cards didnt work for getting in, but the other hotel's staff were friendly and let us in. We were there for one night and it was fine but not great.
