Great stay clean

Spending a few nights in this hotel felt like I was living in a different timeline, since the infrastructure looked a bit worn and there were individual shower rooms outside of the hotel rooms.

There really was nothing that I like about this hotel other than it is relative inexpensive by San Francisco's prices for lodging. They had a vending machine in the lobby where a can of soda was only a $1.25. First I did not like the fact that they did not have a record of my reservation. I had made the reservation an about two weeks before my stay. I even emailed the property and they replied back concerning my reservation. They had no room available for me according to the clerk. After the clerk made a few phone calls they put me in a room for the night but I had to move the next day. Unfortunately I had to leave for work around 5:30 am so I was unable to unpack my clothing or toiletries. The next evening when I got off work I went back to the hotel and was given a key for another room. there were many things about the room that were substandard. TV that kept going going to preview screen when I was watching something., a picture that was place above the bed that had a broken frame that looked like it might fall apart and fall on my head while I slept. One of the shower areas has exposed wiring and open lighting casing that is not meant to be in a room with moisture. And I am done using Booking.com. This is the second place that I used Booking.com and I have learned my lesson. Trying to get a customer service rep when something goes wrong is impossible. the worst customer service ever.

The street felt safe enough for being on the northern border of the Tenderloin. The hotel was a bit run down, but clean. You get what you pay for. It's inexpensive for a reason.

I've stayed here twice and would stay again. An older hotel that needs upgrading, but very clean with a friendly staff. Although in the heart of the Tenderloin, this particular location (Geary and Leavenworth) is very safe and free from many of the problems normally associated with this area. There are numerous dining options nearby. The location is quite far from the BART station at either Powell of Civic center. Difficult walk with baggage.

A little old-fashioned, but the bed and shower are really good. Sadly, located in a area with lots of homeless/drug addicts. There is a gate though. For the price it was very good.

The location has a lot of homeless people around, and we experienced a lot of noise from neighbouring buildings/rooms. One night the neighbour was playing music from 3am.

It’s an nostalgic old hotel, great art deco and ambience…

The staff is wonderful, greeted me by name, very accommodating. The bed was comfortable and my window overlooked a garden and the room was very quiet. Fishmando Sushi a block away is amazing. (Get the dragon roll) Have you heard the saying that your blessing is also your curse? The property does a good job keeping everything clean but I found the aroma of the cleaning supplies a little overwhelming. I opened the window in my room and that helped a lot.

Location was good. It was easy to go anywhere. Public transportation was available every day Room had very little attention. Towels were never changed every day. Trash containers remain the same way. No attention was given to keep the room clean.

Neighborhood less than ideal but in the heart of the city. 10 minute walk to union square and 15 minutes to union plaza/civic center.

The staff was very nice and helpful. I did not care for the shared bathroom or showers. I wish the bedroom had its own bathroom and shower. The room was small but clean. The bed was very small and not comfortable unless you are teen or young child. The room was cold at night but too hot under all the covers. There is portable fan heater but I was unable able to turn it on or use it. The area around the hotel was not ideal it was a rough area. I asked one of the staff what is the least expensive way to get the airport and he recommended a cab which was around $80 the last time I traveled from the airport to a hotel in the same area. Thank god for google it recommended the bart train which was under $12 it saved me a bundle.

Onla good thing was location The building, room and amenities were old. The room was not clean. There was a mice in the room, and I told this to hostel staff and worried. the respond was “ please let us know if you see it again, they shouldn’t harm you”. The reason that I stay here was location and single room opportunity but I don’t recommend it for this price. If you have this price range stay in a shared and better place!

Convenient walking distance to restaurants, public transportation, and tourist sites. No housekeeping or change of towels in the 5 days I stayed.

Everything was fine during my stay. I was very pleased to stay here.

Shockingly bad, dirty and smelly. Such an awful experience. The previous reviews and pictures are deceptive. This situation of this hotel is so bad that it should not be allowed to host anyone. It has an iron entry wrought directly connect to the street, with groups of homeless people hanging right outside, unsafe and very dirty. The strong urine smell from the street comes directly into the hallway, unbearable. The carpet leading to the rooms (again very connected to the street) are so dirty and filthy, almost became black. The rooms are smelly too, but covered up by a cheap scent, made it unbearable to breathe. The duvet is very very dirty, the pillows are so smelly. Some review says this hotel probably hosted homeless people during Covid. And I believe so, that's why. Location and dirtiness. I paid in advance but escaped, booked another hotel in another area. Avoid this area at all cost.
