Hotel Gibbs Downtown Riverwalk

Wonderful location! The staff was very helpful in answering questions about downtown parking. The property itself is incredibly charming. It has that historic feel instead of being just another boring, cookie cutter hotel.

Things did not get off to a great start, but the staff completely went above and beyond to make sure that they corrected that and that’s all a person can ask for. They were quite very helpful with my pleasure being in mind. That’s all the person really ever wants that if it’s not going great or something isn’t right that the people are there to make it great and make it right and that’s exactly what happened on my stay. And on a sidenote, they’re complementary breakfast actually tasted very good compared to most.

Stayed there overnight w my kids. No restaurant service nor a bar. The lobby is nothing worth commenting able because it’s almost no existent. Good thing is that the hotel is close to many amenities.

There are street renovations and it was inconvenient. I also had to pay for parking and it would have been nice to know before booking.

Honestly.. I would not stay here ever again. Luckily I was able to be refunded with the help of Expedia. I checked in at 5:30pm and left at 1:30am. First impression, the room interior had luxurious touches however around 9:30pm I spotted a roach. I’ve never seen such a huge bug IN MY LIFE! I turned all the lights on and kept spotting them, as someone who doesn’t appreciate pests this was an absolute disaster for me. These are not Waterbugs! These are Roaches, helpful and friendly staff but I was extremely disappointed with this and wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone…

The room was beautiful and clean, very spacious and a super comfortable bed. I was there on a work trip, so I was up early anyways, but I would not recommend it for a vacation stay since construction starts as early as 2:23am (the first time was 5am). Luckily the bed was super comfortable and I was able to fall back asleep after getting used to the sound of the construction. They have done a wonderful job keeping up with the historical aspect of the building, the marble floor is gorgeous!

My stay at Hotel Gibbs was excellent. The location could not have been better. It is literally just steps from the the Alamo, the Shops at Rivercenter, and the Riverwalk making it incredibly convenient to explore downtown San Antonio. The customer service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff throughout my stay. The area felt safe and welcoming, and despite being so close to major attractions, the hotel was quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Antonio.

Shower floor was mildewy. There was a washcloth on the lobby floor when we checked in and was still there when we left the next day. No parking, had to valet, $47 for a day.

Everything was great! Friendly staff and nice comfortable rooms. Definitely staying there again.

Not like as promoted

We love staying here! Even with the construction going on across we slept in pretty good! The Almo room was a little dirty when we arrived, lots of dust and hair on the floor. That was a first for us!

Perfect spot!! The riverwalk is like a 5 minute walk and love the Alamo right across!
