Extended Stay America Select Suites - Jacksonville - Southside

FLEAS! Horrible experience. There were fleas all over the carpet. I called customer service, and they offered me a discounted suite at another location (Baymeadows) since this one was sold out. When I arrived at the Baymeadows location, there was no way to enter the property. There's supposed to be a night attendant on duty on the phone line, but no one answered. I only entered the property because someone let me in. When I entered someone with a gun visibly on his front waist entered the property. As I was leaving, the night attendant asked me why I had banged on the gate. I told her there was a man with a gun who entered the hotel, and she said, "Never mind that," and asked, "Why did you bang on the gate?" I told her I had a reservation, and she said there was only one room left, which was already reserved. The last thing I told her was that this hotel company had a horrible hospitality experience and she said: "yeah it is".

Nothing at all. I arrived and went to a room filled with black mold and spiderwebs. The air didn’t even work. Had to call the main customer service number twice just to be told I needed to return to the front lobby. Got there and waited for awhile. The night worker had to go and get bed cover. He told me I had to make my own bed in the new room. It had mold and the tub had bad stains and broken paint. I won’t be returning. You would have thought I was in a prostitution ring and didn’t care about myself at all. If you see this place, keep strolling past it.

The only thing that was working there was the 100 deposit, the bathroom were old and looks dirty, the bed and air conditioning was fine but in general is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in Florida, I don’t recommend this to anyone.

Item the location, and I liked the convenience. But what I did not like was the manager and how rude she was to me. Although I know that she has running a business it doesn’t mean you have to be nasty to your customers just because they are not as prompt to your backing call as you would like. I let them know that I was staying another night, but I was having trouble with my debit card that I was waiting on my friend to pay for the room for me, but nevertheless expect me to have payment shortly. Ultimately, I had to pack up and leave and come right back a short while later, but I had the money. My money was good. It didn’t call for being banned from the property. it wasn’t as if I was holding the room hostage or neglecting to leave.

Front desk people were nice It didn't look like the shower walls had been cleaned in forever. Bathroom definitely needs a refresh.
