Horrible experience. I surprised my husband with a night away for Father’s Day, and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. He checked in around 2–3 p.m. and turned on the A/C before heading back out. When he returned around 9 p.m., the thermostat showed 66°F, yet the room still felt extremely warm and humid, with humidity reading over 80%. When he went to the front desk to complain, he was told that it was simply “Houston humidity” and that he wasn’t used to it. We found that response unacceptable, especially considering the premium rates being charged during the World Cup. It felt like they assumed he was an out-of-town visitor and dismissed the issue rather than addressing it. He also discovered that the refrigerator was leaking. After another trip to the front desk, he insisted on being moved or he would leave. Ironically, he had asked about changing rooms the first time and was told they weren’t sure they could accommodate that. Once moved, the second room was still excessively humid. He ultimately had to take a cold shower just to be able to fall asleep. Be aware that this property appears unable to handle Houston summer conditions—and this is still the cooler part of the season. We’ve stayed at far less expensive hotels throughout Houston and have never experienced anything like this. For the price we paid, this level of comfort and customer service was completely unacceptable.

If you feel like you've walked onto the set of a Wes Anderson movie, you have entered Hotel Daphne. You've chosen wisely. This hotel is curated by a seasoned museum professional and opened by art lovers. It is decorated with an eye for art, period pattern, comfort, and pleasure. The beds are heavenly, the bathroom is a party of stripes, and the walk-in shower is big enough for the whole family. The bar has its own cozy, swanky vibe, to canoodle or go awol in. Hypsi, the restaurant, offers breakfast and brunch as wonderful as its staff. The lobby is a room to linger in, from the rounded velvet seating encircling a canon of joyfully exuberant flowers, to the artworks, books, and gift shop. I'll be back.

Our one night stay was great for celebrating our anniversary. The staff was very hospitable and caring. The power went out during our stay and the kitchen was inoperable but the staff made up for this in many ways. Would recommend!

Lovely rooms. Good neighborhood. Would absolutely stay again.

The quality of the paper products was lacking. It seems some real kleenex and more substantial toilet paper would be an improvement . We really enjoyed our breakfast

Clean room, Staff was great, Very Nice

It's a fairly new building. Very modern with classic touches... fantastic bar and in a very convenient location. It's not cheap so if you're on a budget I'd set this one out. But if you're in The Heights for any occasion... spend the money and enjoy!!

One young lady seating guests in morning shift at restaurant was less than friendly. when I mentioned the coffee was cold from urn at front desk, she instructed me to buy a cup in the restaurant. When I said that doesn't seem right. Im a guest staying here. She dismissed me with I don't make the rules around here. The other personnel were welcoming & friendly but she took the shine away from all.

Amazing hotel. Smelled so good the second I walked in the lobby. Cozy, comfy rooms. The restaurant downstairs was really good. Loved everything about it and can’t wait to come back.

The electrical issues were particularly frustrating; the power in my room failed repeatedly due to a tripped breaker. Despite the technician suggesting I avoid using the nightstand outlets, the power failed again while I was working on my laptop. I found the suggestion that a low-draw device like a laptop was causing the outage to be technically dismissive. When I was finally moved to a new room—with no offer of luggage assistance—I was initially offered a smaller room rather than an equivalent or upgraded one. To conclude the experience, the second room had a leaking toilet that wet the bathroom floor. The hotel is visually very nice, but the underlying operational issues are impossible to ignore.

I enjoyed everything about this place: the thoughtful decor, the helpful staff, the comfy bed, the delicious dinner at Hypsi. The green bathrooms are dreamy and a welcome departure from the sterile vibe of most hotel bathrooms. Everyone from the front desk and restaurant staff to the valets were genuinely friendly, and the library is a beautiful space to lounge for an hour or two. It’s a new boutique hotel and construction next door is currently underway. I was told a pool, additional parking and a fitness center are coming soon. This was my favorite stay so far in Houston and I will definitely return next time I’m in town.

The hotel is pretty, with a cool vibe (typical of Bunk House), with a great staff. It had only been open a week when I arrived, and there were minor technical glitches due to it being newly opened, but the staff addressed each small issue encountered. The room was large and pretty. The common areas and restaurant were also very nice. I went to happy hour the night of arrival and breakfast the morning of departure. The menu was small, but everything was prepared well and delicious. The only downside was construction of the pool and other areas next door, but I was up early and not really impacted by this. All in all, this is a great new place to stay in the Houston Heights, and I am sure I will stay there again.
