Galveston Beach Hotel

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The hotel felt very run-down and in need of significant repairs and maintenance. Many areas appeared worn and neglected, which made the property feel less clean and inviting than expected. While the staff was courteous, the overall condition of the hotel did not match the standards we were hoping for. With some renovations and better upkeep, this property could be much improved. Based on our experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

Good stay. Room was a good size. Ac in the room was not that great based on the heat outside.

Very outdated and many things that come with that. Rusty parts of the bathroom, balcony, and microwave. The staff was helpful and front desk was very friendly, but the amenities, the rooms and overall quality of the hotel is very poor and in need of repairs and maintenance. The breakfast wasn’t very pleasant either and limited options. Not the best brands or food quality. Overall I wouldn’t stay again.

The property and the rooms where clean , and we absolutely loved the location .Breakfast was very good too we absolutely loved our stay .

Hotel is a little run down, but looks like they are remodeling. Always a hot breakfast to start the day. Bring an extra blanket as rooms are very cold.

Hotel had no small towels no big towels no extra sheets and no extra pillows! They gave out the beach out to replace the big towels. The hotel was not full at all so not understanding why their wasn't enough towels and etc.. Breakfast was ok just didn't have any type of meat just cereal, eggs, and waffles.

The building is quite old so a number of outlets didn't work and there were a lot of spots that contained rust. Due to the humidity, there was lots of condensation leading to damp floors, so mold may actually be an issue. However, bed linen was clean as were the towels. The TV only had one functioning channel.The fitness center equipment wasn't well maintained. The hotel does NOT offer shuttle service to the cruise terminal despite advertising that they do. Staff only on directs you to options you can find for that service. Only pluses-they do offer a small continental breakfast and the location is very close to the beach. That being said, if you want to really feel comfortable and get your money's worth, choose a better hotel. This place is not worth the "very good" rating that's listed.

We were given a room on the first floor - 141 The front door to the room only opened halfway upon arrival, it dragged on the floor tile and stuck at a 45° angle. The front door lock didn’t work & had to be taken apart the 2nd night of our stay (after going to the front desk multiple times) by maintenance staff and replaced. The hotel flip latch was held on my literally 2 screws - this was also finally fixed on our 2nd night by maintenance staff. The real reason for this review - after a morning of it raining, we woke up to standing water in the middle of the room. Upon further investigation, the entire back side of the room (by the back door) was water soaked and damaged. Water was seeping up from the floor tiles, the ceiling was water damaged & the patio door & trim were falling apart from all the water damage. I can only assume that it’s been leaking all along and instead of fixing the issue, the hotel management decided to only paint over the issues and keep on renting the room. From the damages seen, it definitely looks like there has been a leak all along, the wall tile along the floors were falling off and coming apart with black mold behind the tiles on the walls. The hotel front desk did not act like this was a priority or a concern to them when reported. I’m sure they knew about it and still continue to rent the room out. I have taken pictures and videos for management who is interested.

Incredibly slow elevators

This hotel was welcoming and comfortable. The room was nice and clean and the included breakfast was a nice start to our day.

Exceptional

Very comfortable sleep. The breakfast had pretty good choices you can make fresh waffles and they also have a couple of other options.its also right infront on the beach so that’s great. The only things I didn’t like is that there was a strange smell in the second floor hallway. We also weren’t able to watch tv the signal wasn’t working the whole time we were staying there.

I liked the proximity to the beach. The room was dark. The desk area seemed out of place. The balcony was small and there really wasn’t much ch of a beach view.

I requested a king size room with an ocean view. I got a room that looked out on the other hotel and if you lean out and turn you can kind of see the ocean. If you want an ocean view you should request the pool view that looks out on the ocean. The hotel was right across the road from the ocean which is what I wanted so I was happy with the hotel. Food was what you would expect for this price and the gym was okay.

Loosing power every hour. The phone at the front office was not working. Elevators were out of service most of the time, the door was hard to open. All this happened on June 17 night

We had a great stay. Front desk was very helpful and our room was nice. We didn’t try the pool, but it looked fun. Breakfast was great with lots of options. Would stay here again.

Smelt a lot of marijuana very bad smell in the elevator too that needed to be cleaned and the keys didn’t work good
