The Francis Marion Hotel

The perfect place to stay while visiting Charleston. Staff was friendly and informative. The Swamp Fox Restaurant and Bar was great and the waiter Eric really made eating special. We will definitely stay there again.

Very outdated. Tiny bathroom. Didn't warrant the price. Parking was expensive and inconvenient. Couldn't control air conditioning.

The location was nice and the Valet boys were all very nice and extremely helpful When we arrived there was still toilet paper in the toilet. Tried to flush it, and it didn't go down. So we called for maintenance, and the response we received was oh just flush more than once. Not my water bill, I guess. It would take three to four flushes for the toilet to fully flush.

We got to the property a little early and they more than accommodating. Since our room was ready they let us in early. We had a clogged sink and they were quick to address it. Perfect location.

Only complaint is that beds are full size, not queen so be sure to pay close attention when booking. I did not and found it difficult for our party of 3 to sleep in only two beds. Staff was amazing about bringing in a twin size roll away when I asked for one... but it unfortunately was also very uncomfortable. And the Starbucks was closed. Those are my only complaints. Otherwise hotel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and in a great location. We were only there for a weekend but we really enjoyed our stay in Charleston.

Room and staff were great, Lovely downtown location so we were able to walk to a lot of the places we wanted to go.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We would go back.

Clean room, super friendly and helpful staff, the Swamp Fox restaurant served an amazing Grouper special and the server Viet was as good as is gets for top notch service. The location was great with a short walk to the market and the harbor. Loved our stay here.

Cons: small elevators, odor from cleaning grease traps, big cockroach in room

A pipe burst and the smell was unbearable. Had to spend time in the park across the street. Staff didn’t offer apologies or acknowledgment of the inconvenience.
