TownePlace Suites by Marriott Albany

My stay was in March 2026. I waited to write a review because I had a complaint about my stay and I contacted both the site manager and Marriott by email and by letter, (yes, I wrote a letter). I never got a response from either one so here is my review. The room was ok, it was clean, the staff was ok. So what was my beef ?? The room was not the size that was advertised when I made the reservation through Expedia. It was comfortable enough but my brother and I were in town for a funeral and stayed 2 nights. The room I reserved was supposed to be a suite with 800 sq.ft area. That is HUGE for a room I know. But it is what was advertised and what I paid for. The photos that showed the room were also misleading. I guess the 800 was a typo error but it was not my error. It was what was advertised so why would I question it. The room I got was less than 350 sq. ft. I asked the desk clerk about it and was told I was in the correct room. There was an event in town and everything was booked up so no option about canceling. I am more aggravated about not getting ANY response than anything else. They got $450.00 from me. That should rate at least a response. Anyway, that's my beef.

Clean room, great customer service , and breakfast was great !

Location was great. Outside property was kept, but bulbs in the pool area were out. Hall ways smelled good. AC worked well. I reserved a one bedroom suite with sofa bed. Mattress in sofa bed was like sleeping on blanket of springs. Upon arrival, shower in bathroom was dirty and had left over residue of dirt etc. on shower floor, shower door was covered in soap scum. We had to request sheets and blanket from front after i came back from target to purchase cleaning supplies to clean and disinfect room. The room smelled very old and dirty. There was dust on counters. It felt like room 320 was not cleaned properly before our arrival. No trash bags in trash bins. We did not eat breakfast, we were down by 7:20 am, the trays that held water for the food, was disgusting dirty with left over food probably from the previous day. Nothing else was out beside some cereal. This was only for a one night stay and i will not go back nor recommend.

After showers it's very difficult to turn it off without it constantly dripping all night

Very clean smelled so nice inviting. The clerk that checked is in was fantastic!! Very personable accommodating and just all around nice. Everyone greeted us when you came in. Breakfast was good also. There wasn't anything we didn't like.

I had a great stay here! I would come back!

I DID NOT HAVE HOT WATER TO TAKE A SHOWER THE MORNING AFTER I CHECKED IN! I DID LET THE FRONT DESK KNOW AT CHECKOUT. THAT PRETTY MUCH RUINED MY STAY!

This was a vacation away from my kids for a few hours I just slept and enjoyed piece and quiet Loved it

Everything about the property was great.

I like the area the hotel is located. I didn’t care for the bathroom sink had very low water pressure. It took awhile for the water from the sink to go down. Than the shower head appears not to be adjustable it was like more water coming out and spitting more like towards the floor than inside the shower. Also I honestly saw a huge bug crawling in my room up above my door. I encourage to keep the hotel be Pest control more frequently than once a month maybe 1st of the month and the middle or end of each month.
